Recently Israel mourned surpassing the death of more than 100 soldiers killed since the ground operation in Gaza began. something struck me. I want to share a personal insight and ask for your help.
Last week, the IDF announced the death of five more soldiers, reservists. In all cases but one, they were married with children. The one was recently engaged. It struck me that there were four new widows, sixteen new orphans, and a woman engaged to the man she now eulogized. That was just in one day. Another day recently, seven soldiers were killed. There are now hundreds of orphans and dozens of widows. I realized then that as much as we have been providing equipment to keep the soldiers safe, supplies to make them feel appreciated and better outfitted for the tasks at hand, we also need to do more to help them with the long-term trauma.
Some of the children are too young and will not remember their fathers, but the trauma will be with them for years, maybe forever.
Please join us to help make a difference. We are already partnering with organizations that provide long term support and counseling for the survivors of the Nova music festival where 370 young people were slaughtered on October 7. What the survivors witnessed and experienced have scared them forever. We’re also partnering with an organization that provides counselling and therapy for at-risk youth from the Gaza border area.
Since October 7, there are MANY more who need our support. With your help today, we will also provide help to the widows and orphans of those who laid their lives down, sacrificing themselves for our country. But together, we can be sure that their loved ones will be looked after and loved indefinitely.
“May God rise; His enemies scatter, and those who hate Him flee from before Him. As smoke is driven away, You will drive [them] away; as wax melts before fire, the wicked will perish from before God. And the righteous will rejoice, yea, they will exult before God, and they will delight with joy. Sing to God, sing praises to His name, O Father of orphans and Judge of widows, O God in His holy dwelling place." (Psalm 68:2-5) Please join us today for the fatherless orphans and bereaved widows.
